if you follow the directions and let it dissolve under your tongue, within 5 minutes you will feel it.

Literally: 'under tongue' If you have to take a pill or some type of other medication (nitro perhaps) sublingually, you place it underneath your tongue and let it dissolve.

I always do. When it's dissolving under the tongue let it completely dissolve then you can swallow. Avoid talking, chewing, drinking and anything else if possible that way you take in as much under the tongue as possible
Does Suboxone work if you swallow it?
Yes!! A very big difference, if you do not take it sublingually (dissolved under tongue) then you will not be getting all of the bupremorphine in your system. Just swallowing it will render the drug almost ineffective. Take the time to let it dissolve!!

It depends on whether you are taking pills (which you do not swallow), or sublingual strips. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes. Also remember not to swallow while the Suboxone is still under the tongue. Swallowing will lessen the effect, these drugs do not work nearly as well when ingested, they must be absorbed by the blood vessels of the tongue. It usually dissolves completely within five minutes, but if they have been on a shelf for awhile can take up to 10 minutes. Suboxone should only be taken sublingually(dissolved under tongue), if not taken this way it is virtually ineffective.

You just take them orally like you would with any other pill. Do not put it under your tongue like with suboxone as it will burn and taste horrible. Methadone pills break down quickly and dissolve very fast so there is no point in crushing or breaking the pill.

I guess it would be okay for you to take a vicodin after 48 hours of you not taking any suboxone. Suboxone has a long half life and that means it stays in your system for a long period of time. First of all, why would you want to only be on suboxone for a week? suboxone doesn't work in a week. And if it does work for you in a week then why would you want to touch a vicodin again??
