Ecdysis is the moulting of invertebrates. So many invertebrates molt, such as crabs, lobsters, Spiders, bees, centipedes, dragonflies, grasshoppers, roaches, mantids, and the most well known, cicadas.

Bees molt in the beginning of their lifetime. They molt about every 24 hours within the first four days of their larval life as their legs, antennae and such emerge and the body grows. It is called ecdysis, and it normally takes about 30 minutes.
