the keys might probably weaken, but other than that there should be no problem at all. try getting keyboard with spring keys (they make click sound when pressed). they will last longer compared to soft gel ones.
An egg will break if you sit on it or if some kind of force acts upon it...an egg will not just spontaneously break into pieces.

Pretty much the same as a normal keyboard, with your hands. However, most ergo keyboards are have their characters as now left and right use except that the keyboard itself is allows the hads to sit in their natural position palms outermost and fingers facing to the centre of the keybaord
