Landfills are usual old fields; once a habitat for animals. Picture this: There is this wonderful field with animals, food and a good suppyl of water near by. Then, people cage the animals and start a landfill. If a major supply of a species was there and was taken to a shelter, then this could cause the animal species to be endangered.
