There are 11 federally recognized national holidays and, in addition, some states also declare particular dates to be state holidays. However, whether or not your employer gives them to you is entirely up to them, and/or may be controlled by a union agreement or work contract. There is no law that REQUIRES an employer to give you time off.

Can presidents order a national holiday?

The US does not have any national holidays in the sense of special days on which all employees refrain from work. There are federal holidays on which all federal employees are excused from work or else are paid extra for working if they are in essential jobs. These federal holidays are set by federal law passed by Congress. I think the President could issue an executive order to close federal offices due to lack of funds or some other emergency situation. The President can also declare special days of observance for various reasons such as a day of prayer, but people are free to ignore them if they wish.

What rights have been taken away from Christians in the U.S.?

No rights have been taken. That would be discrimination and against the law. The majority of the country sees itself as a Christian nation so that makes them the majority view. Christmas is celebrated every year for weeks, Easter is celebrated every Spring. For both holidays they are federal holidays and schools, post offices, and government services are closed. Jewish and Muslim holidays are not Federal holidays and people are often denied those days off for their religion, but Christianity has no problem with any religious beliefs or holidays.
