There are a tremendous number of different species of lizards, so this question does not have a single answer. In captivity, baby bearded dragons must be fed three times per day, while adult monitor lizards may only eat 2 or 3 times per week.
Please research the needs of any pet before you bring it home, and never take advice from pet store personnel.
