I am 62 years old and have suffered from irregularity for a long time. My doctor advised against taking Bisacodyl USP and recommend a dose of Polyethylene glycol per day. He said regular use of stimulants causes the muscles that control the bowels to atrophy leading to dependence. It works for me, and if doctors are subscribing it I suspect many people are doing it.
One caution. I often put a dose in a small plastic bag and add it to liquids I purchase at convenience stores. The manager of one store observed this, took the bag out of the trash and called the cops. It tested positive for cocaine and I was investigated. When the police tested the Bisacodyl USP from the bottle, it tested positive.
