These feelings can often be resolved through an external romantic relationship which does not become overtly physical. Because of the way most men would define 'cheating', the majority of womens' infidelity would not be recognized as 'cheating' by men. Studies have shown, however, that between men and women, the rate of infidelity (when considering emotional and physical cheating as equal) is about the same.
