Moths may not have teeth, but they do burn. I had one land on my leg, and all of a sudden it felt like I was burned. I thought it was a coincidence, but when it landed on my leg again, I felt the burn again. However, they can create a serious nuisance as they quickly colonize any suitable grain products, including birdseed, flour, cereal and oatmeal. Sometimes the larvae will infest dried fruits and herbs, as well. The moths are able to penetrate packaging to lay their eggs and larvae are often found inside unopened plastic bags. They may also leave casings on walls, inside cabinets and on ceilings.
