It depends on how much RAM each computer has, but sometimes notebooks can run a tad slower than desktop computers, depending on what you're doing on it. But if you're just on the internet or doing something simple like that, it shouldn't make much of a difference.
yes
Laptop computers are not "better" than desktops per sae, only more convenient. Actually, for the same price one can normally get a "better" (meaning higher processor, more RAM, memory etc) for the same price. Laptops are considered "better" because they are portable so a person could literally take it anywhere.
No they are a lot faster now.
Ultramobile & Subnotebook.
At a given price, you are usually buying less computer with a notebook than with a desktop. That being said, there are a number of modern notebooks which are actually classed as "desktop replacement" computers. Please note, though, that due to cooling and power consumption restraints, you are unlikely to find a notebook to compete with the absolute top-of-the-line desktop. For normal computing, though, once you connect an external monitor, keyboard and mouse to a relatively decent notebook computer running off of AC power (to allow maximum performance), you would likely not be able to tell the difference. Notebook computers can run as fast as most desktop computers. There are limits to notebooks, those being space and heat dissipation, so the highest end notebooks are not on par with the highest end desktops.
Dell's online site and Best Buy offer refurbished computers, including notebook computers, for lower prices than brand new models. Other places one may find gently used notebook computers would be on Amazon's website, eBay, or craigslist.
Yeah a computer and a labtop both have a notebook installed
"They each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The laptops are functional, easily stored, easy to travel with, and plenty to choose from. Although they seem to be more expensive than the highly-stocked desktops; twice as much to be exact! The desktops have been fully loaded with programs, as well as functions such as quiet operating systems."
Both notebook and netbook computers work well for web surfing. The notebook offers more versatility while the netbook offers a much cheaper price.
It depends on what technical specifications you are after. You can buy a mini netbook for around $400AUD which is cheaper than the price of any desktop but has less specificatons. Desktops start at around $700AUD.
There are many advantages that notebooks have over desktops. Firstly, they are portable. They also use considerably less electricity. My desktop uses roughly 500 Watts, while my laptop only requires less than 10 Watts. Those are the only advantages that I could think of that notebooks have over desktops. Hope it helped.
You can try looking online to see if people have posted reviews or experiences with both the Sony and the Dell notebooks. You can also get a copy of Consumer Reports magazine and see if they compared notebook computers.
