they have to have somthing to land on or they will drown of exhaustion. i have a pet turtle they make great pets so DONT kill it!
Yes, painted turtles need land. They are cold-blooded reptiles which means they rely on their environment for warmth. Turtles like to lay on logs/rocks/land to bask in the sunlight.
"Sun turtle" is not a specific breed of turtle. It is a nickname for a group of turtle species known as Painted Turtles. There are four different types of painted turtles, Eastern Painted, Midland Painted, Southern Painted and Western Painted. Each one has it's own specific dietary requirements. Because sun turtles do not exist and is just a nickname for a group called Painted Turtles, which there are four different species of, you will need to find out exactly which species of painted turtle you own before dietary requirements can be recommended.
Aquatic turtles need to live in water. How deep depends on the species. Turtles like painted turtles or slider turtles need water to be as deep as possible. Turtles like musk and snapping turtles need shallower water. They have to have land too, a turtle need to be able to completely dry off when ever they want to. Tortoises or box turtles need a shallow, easy to climb in, dish that is big enough for then to fit in so they can sit in it and drink when ever they want.
Painted turtles...like many other turtles are simi-aquatic. Which means that they require land and water. They need some place to swim and they also need some place so they can get out and dry off under a heat lamp of some kind.
Painted turtles live in ponds, lakes or streams. This turtles are found mostly in lakes.
yes they need an aquarium with a section for feeding, a section for swimming, and a section for basking. 75 - 125 gal. reccomended
Baby painted turtles can be fed any time during the day, once a day. Allow they them to eat as much as they want for 30 minutes. Adults can be fed any time during the day, every other day. Let them eat as much as they want for 30 minutes to an hour. I recommend feeding your turtles in a separate tank because painted turtles are very messy! If you feed then in their tank then they will quickly ruin the water. That goes for any kind of turtle.
Painted Turtles are semi aquatic. They are happy to swim, but they also need to come out of the water to bask under UVA/UVB light and completely dry off. Because they do not have saliva, they also need water to eat in or they won't be able to swallow their food. If you need a basking platform for your turtles to bask on, you can head over to a local pet store and find one or check out an online store for a discounted price.
Well you have to have a UV Light, a Turtle Dock, a Filter, a Heater, and at the least a 10 gallon tank. You need 1 gallon per inch of turtle. I have two baby painted turtles and they eat "Baby Shrimp and Krill" and eat alot each day. You should get some plants and gravel to put in the tank too. Turtles love to swim, so in the summer you can build a little pond and let the turtle live there until late autumn. You need to leave the UV light on at least 6 hours a day.
What kind of turtle is it? Turtles like painted turtles and slider turtles should be fine. But turtles like musk, mud, or soft shell turtles would have trouble reaching the surface to breath. Do some research on your turtle and find out what their habitat should be. Deep or shallow.
their eyes need to be open and yes, they eat a piece of lettuce every second.
You must be going the wrong way or something because you get rock climb in the snow on the path to snowpoint city. You need to fly to celestic and go through the Mt. from there. You don't need rock climb
