It really depends. Most shops won't buy gold plated items (unless it is something like gold plated silver) because there really is no demand and the amount of gold on there is very, very, very tiny. On the other hand, if it is something of nice workmanship or an antique, they might buy it for the antique value. But all pawn shops are different, what one accepts readily others might not be willing to accept, the only way to know is to go in and ask.
