There have been humans living in space since the late 1980's. NASA had a few people aboard the Spacelab back in the 80's, and the Russians had people aboard Mir starting in 1989 until it was abandoned in 1999. The International Space Station has been continuously occupied since November 2000, so there have been people living in space for most of the last 20 years.
Living in space takes care and technology, but there is no reason why substantial numbers of people in the far future shouldn't live their lives in space, never coming to Earth - or any other planet!
a residential space is a space that people live in
The astronauts will have to live in space according to the space plan, example the days in space planned by N.a.s.a.
In Space
Because we can't live in space.
Technology helps people live in space because it provides them with air and insulation also ability to work in microgravity.
The International Space Station is designed so that six people can live there for an extended period of time. The Space Station has held as many as 10 people for shorter time periods.
people need water and food and to live oxygen and if you can get some shouter.
One reason that people might want a colony in space is because space exploration is exciting and new, and many people would love the chance to live in space. Another reason might be because overpopulation and other issues make expanding the places where humans can live attractive.

They allowed people to live and work in space for long periods.
Pretty much anywhere, given access to technology. Some even live in outer space (on the space station).
because people need oxygen to breath, in space there is no oxygen making people ineligible to breath.
