yes , unless she would much rather nest somewhere else than the corner of the cage . i have a pregnant hamster im pretty sure shes pregnant being that big, their stomachs usually get about 2 in. wider than usual. and are more active and sleep ALOT, so dont wake them!!!! im only 12 yrs old but i know pregnancy when i see it. you must be very carful and delicute or mabe could kill the babies . usually the regular amount of babies ( cubs ) are 3 to at least 12. the most to be born is 17, which is very rare. do not have males in cfage during birth possibly he would eat them. same , sometimes with the mom ,not always.
thanks

Mine did. She keeps the babies in one corner and food in another now. maybe it helps her remember where the babies are!
He is making a nest for himself to sleep in. All hamsters do that. I have had two of them.
your female hamster will get aggressive, start hoarding food , and making a circular nest in the corner of your cage.
yes they do
They start building a nest.
you will see her belly to bubble up and she will be making a nest in the corner of her cage, she will start hoarding food taking it to her nest , she will be more protective over here and her belonging such as nest, food.
what you do is you get a little tub (like what you put your extras food in) You have to hurry but get some of the hamsters shavings in the tub and place your hamster gently in the tub plus: do not keep the babies in the same cage as the other mothert hamster mother may eat babies
It will get bigger and more sleepy, it's nipples will stick out more. It will make a big mound where it usually sleeps. Note- in Pet shops they usaullydon't put hamsters of the same sex in the same cage so unless you have two hamsters of diffrent sexes then it is highly unlikely that you have bought a pregnant hamster ;)
just so people know: hamsters don't have to get bigger, some don't show any signs they are pregnant, so use behaviour, and just your own observations such as mating sessions food consumption yes nesting etc to draw this conclusion, but when in doubt, assume they are, and clean the cage as soon as u notice the nesting behaviour, yes mum might get upset but its better than having a dirty cage that will not be allowed to be cleaned properly for another few weeksYour hamster would get bigger also you will realize that she will be a little protective. Her abdomen will be of course bigger, and tighter, and often her nipples will become more visible. She will also eat more and a few days before giving birth, she will be carrying lots of bedding off to make a nest. Do NOT clean the cage!If the hamster is making a nest and eating lots and lots of food and if the tummy is big, she might be pregnant. You know when your hamster is pregnant when you see that is it gotten huge in a short amount of time. Her stomach will be bigger than you have ever seen it. They will also begin to make a giant nest in the corner of the cage. She will take most of the shavings in the cage to make the nest. She will hide her self completely in the nest. DO NOT touch the babies if she has them because this may cause abandonment of the babies. For more information, visit:www.hamsterownerswebs.webs.comWhen the hamsters little tummy is getting big.
It is fat, makes a nest, mating with a male and does not drink alot and brings food to the nestAlyver
yes it is ok because it all ready pregnant so another hamster cant do it> ok, um... one more thing.... since my hamster is pregnet, when she builds a HUGE NEST... how close is she for birth??? and is it nessarcary to have a birthing cage?
Your doe is more than likely NOT going to have babies. Is she using her nest box for a potty?? That is a sure sign she is not pregnant, either that or you put her nest box in her potty corner and her cage is too small for her to establish another potty area. Usually after a doe makes her nest she does not set in it until the babies are born. Did you put the nest in too early??? That is another reason she might set in it. A nest box should not be put in with your doe until 3 days before she is due.
Guinea pigs don't actually nest under their bedding like hamsters, but they do love to hide in spaces like their Igloo, and they like to crawl through tunnels and things. But make sure you guinea pig has alot of space to run in its cage. Hope this helps! :)
