Because they tend to eat to much and if they had one they would explode with all the pressure from all the things they eat. In my opinion rats are dumb because if they would just chill out and stop eatting stupid things mabye they would be as lucky to have a gallbladder as us! I love my gallbladder i just couldn't imagine my life without it. Sleep well my darlings
because they are gay
Mice do. Rats do not. Why is unclear (they appear simply to not need one).
(The gallbladder is a small sac and is the storage depot for bile. Bile is only concentrated in the gallbladder. The gallbladder is located at the back part surface of the liver. It is connected with the liver via the cystic duct and the hepatic bile duct. Together they form the common bile duct, which leads into the small intestine. Bile is continuously formed in bile canaliculi in the liver hepatocytes, were it is collected and secreted into the hepatic bile duct. Bile is a complex fluid containing water, electrolytes and a battery of organic molecules including bile acids (water-soluble derivatives of cholesterol), cholesterol, phospholipids and bilirubin. The rate of bile fluid secretion is dependent on the circadian rhythm of the animal (Vonk et al., 1979).)

The Gallbladder. :)
Yes - only rats and horses do not have a gall bladder.
No. Rats don't have gallbladders either. Elephants do not have a gall bladder.
There are some animals that have evolved to not have a gallbladder - the horse is probably the most commonly encountered of these animals. The horse doesn't need a gallbladder - the function of the gallbladder is to store up bile between meals for digestion after the consumption of a meal. As horses have evolved to graze and eat almost constantly throughout the day, they don't have "meals" for the gallbladder to store up bile between and they evolved to not havea gallbladder.
The gallbladder. Horses and deer also do not have gallbladders.
Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and birds have a pancreas. Insects and arachnids have no pancreas.
There is no artificial gallbladder that can act as a replacement for the human gallbladder.

The gallbladder is attached to the bile duct by a small tube called the cystic duct
