there are two conflicting opinions about this. some say not to give potatoes because worms dont eat living things. potatos will grow eyes, and if left, can do this without soil. onions do this too. thats why worms wont eat them. however, you will find that many people have given their worms potatos will no ill effects. it is about the quantity. i came on here it see if you could give worms pineapple. some say yes - some say no. i think i will just be safe and not give it to them. my worms are looking lovely now, and there were spells when they were not the army they should have been. dont want to jeopardise it!

How much worms eat depends on the type and size of the worms in question. In general, earthworms such as red wigglers can eat half their body weight every day.
My friend told me it's worse for dogs than chocolate.. ... If a potato gets green patches on it, that contains solanine, which is very bad for both humans and dogs, though dogs seem to have a particularly bad reaction to it. Potato sprouts also have a good deal of solanine in it.
It dose not matter what age they have to be to eat earth worms

I've never tried red worms, but they'll eat meal worms and crickets just fine. I've even heard of people feeding them scrambled eggs about the size of a cricket. So as long as you made sure the red worms were no longer than the average length of a meal worm. I think it would be just fine. Joe
