um i really think that selective breeding is really wrong people thinks its funny but its really sad because selective breeding is abusing animals and maybe someone can make a illness and kill people etc. but i think its very wrong
personally, I think selective breeding is helpful. It refines the breed; bringing better business to the breeder, and a better animal to the future owner, providing the strongest or sleekest or reddest animal possible.
Selective breeding based on external characteistics is somewhat less than a hit and miss affair. If you know the genetics, the breeding usually goes better. Selective breeding is not always for better breeds -- or maybe it is. What's better? People have selectively bred a strain of mouse that has an epiletic fit when music is played -- is that better? OK, for the reseachers, maybe that is better. Selective breeding does not always make what you want. Problems arise.
Selective breeding can be used to fix desirable characteristics in a breed population.
Unfortunately it can also inadvertently fix undesirable traits as well which then have to be removed from the gene pool. Examples are HYPP in Quarterhorses, dwarfism in Hereford cattle, hip dysplasia in certain Dog Breeds.
There is also the possibility that the breed organization specifically selects characteristics that result in detrimental effects on the breed even though it produces a "desired" appearance. Examples are difficulty giving birth, weakened or
diminished facial bones, etc.
Either inherited traits from parents or, the selected adaptation will prevent the animal for surviving.

Selective breeding is one form of biotechnology important in agriculture and medicine, because when scientists manipulate the genetic makeup of an organism, they are using biotechnology.
There are more than two, but two of them can be Monohybrid Cross (a cross involving one trait/gene from a single locus, and Dihybrid Cross (a cross involving 2 traits/genes occupying two different loci
Two major ways: 1) selective breeding, 2) messing with DNA - either directly or by using viruses.
Selective breeding is a category that has genetic engineering in it. while selective breeding is choosing a trait or feature to breed on, genetic engineering is a man made change in a subjects genes
Genetic mutations
Genetics - or genetic engineering.

Selective breeding or Genetic Engineering or Eugenics
1. Selective Breeding - the 2 types of breeding is Hybridization and Inbreeding2. Cloning - when you copy exactly the same genes as the organism from which it is produced3. Genetic Engineering - Genes from one organism are transferred into the DNA of other organism's. Usually for medicines and food crops

The insertion of a [desired] gene segment into an existing chromosome.
