Because of their underdeveloped kidneys.
the kidneys and renal system regulates water output and balanceThe kidneys are paired organs, which have the production of urine as their primary function. Kidneys are seen in many types of animals, including vertebrates and some invertebrates. They are an essential part of the urinary system, but have several secondary functions concerned with homeostatic functions. These include the regulation of electrolytes, acid-base balance, and blood pressure. In producing urine, the kidneys excrete wastes such as urea and ammonium; the kidneys also are responsible for the reabsorption of glucose and amino acids. Finally, the kidneys are important in the production of hormones including vitamin D, renin and erythropoietin.Located behind the abdominal cavity in the retroperitoneum, the kidneys receive blood from the paired renal arteries, and drain into the paired renal veins. Each kidney excretes urine into a ureter, itself a paired structure that empties into the urinary bladder.Source(s):wikipedia
Chondrichthyes or cartilaginous fishes are jawed fish with paired fins, paired nostrils, scales, two-chambered hearts, and skeletons made of cartilage rather than bone. They are divided into two subclasses: Elasmobranchii (sharks, rays and skates) and Holocephali (chimaera, sometimes called ghost sharks).

(this is not an answer its just to go into further detail what im looking for) Oh and to go along with the question i know that it has to do with an active secretion of a solution that is basically sodium chloride from the rectal gland in the kidneys. But im still confused how that causes the salt to be removed from the blood and exit the body in the sharks urine.
Sharks are in the kingdom classified as Animalia which includes every animal. Sharks are fish and do not surface for air to breathe.
The kidneys are organs. They belong to the excretory (organ) system.
