I saw one in West Palm Beach, Florida. When I pulled up a bush - about 2 foot long - dark grey to black. It dove back in the hold the bush came from and burrowed into the ground. Any idea what it is?
Yes, but it depends on what your classification of underground is. Snakes' like to take over old burrowed holes from previous occupants. They do so for an advantage on prey. Desert snakes cover themselves in a light cover of sand to escape some of the brutal heat, because the sand is slightly cooler.
Yes, some do.
Mice can live underground, depending on the habitat/area. In wet area's near lakes or swamps, mice may live underground if they have a large family. In dry area's near desserts or bush, they live in hollow logs or trees, usually raised above the ground in case of other predators roaming around the ground like snakes or lizards.
Some snakes can.
slippery snakes
Animals that live underground include many rodents such moles, voles, gophers and shrews. Earthworms also tend to live underground. Some animals, such as prairie dogs, ground hogs and others make underground burrows but do not stay underground all of the time.
No because some snakes are not poisnous at all
kangaoos, snakes and many frogs underground
Yes. Snakes live on every continent except Antarctica. Australia is home to some of the world's deadliest snakes.
underground
Most snakes lay eggs although anacondas give birth to live young. Some snakes lay eggs and some give live birth. All boas give live birth, as well as some garter snakes. There may be a few others, but I cannot recall.
Limestone is one of the most abundant sedimentary rocks on Earth and Snakes are found on every continent on Earth (except Antartica)...... So in short yes...there will be some breeds of snake that will live there just because there is so much limestone everywhere.....although it is not a primary consideration for snake habitat.
My brothers find some of little garden snakes in my backyard and they usually live in underground holes or in the wild or dessert they hide in the grass or in caves....................................................................................
Some do have underground nests. The yellow jacket is an example.
