Deer do not like or dislike lions. They learn from their parents and is instinctual for baby prey animals to flee from predators. There have been cases of adult lionesses adopting young antelopes of various species and protecting them. The baby antelope, (a teeny deer) looks to the lioness for protection and food. Of course the lioness does not have the ability to nurse (feed) the baby and the baby will eventually die of starvation, be killed by another predator or in very rare cases, find and return to it's own mother.
