I have been on Strattera for 5 months and I still have not gotten back to normal sexually.
i have been on strattera for 8 months and i still have no sexual desire that i used to have. it sucks! I'm a 19 female in college, this is not okay but i need the strattera.
I wouldn't know anything about the side effects of Strattera, but I would recommend to everyone out here taking it that Adderall is a much better med for ADD. Even though it has slight sexual side effect while it's in your system, it wears off almost immediatly after it clears your system. I would recommend that to everyone out there having trouble with Strattera, but need a med for their ADD.
I've only been taking Strattera about 4 days now and have noticed many of the same side effects mentioned on here - NO sex-drive, erectile problems, and urinary/ejaculatory problems. These are all confirmed by Lilly, the company that makes Strattera, in this document: http://pi.lilly.com/us/strattera-pi.pdf
I hope this helps answer some questions. I'm going back to Cylert. >:-(
I've been taking Strattera for about 3 months. I have encountered some/minimal sexual side effects. I've ejaculated without the sensation of ejaculation. When I poop it stimulates my prostate and at that time I ejaculate. It is small but it is seminal fluid none the less. I have never read this before in a post. I thought it should be included in at least one of them.
I have been on Straterra since March of 2002...shortly after it came out. I have had problems with erections being soft or fading away, no ejaculations, leakage, sore tecticles... This has not lessened at all over time, in fact it has gotten worse. I have lost the drive for sex and the ability too. The problem has become intrusive in my life.
I am a 45 year old male and on 80 Mg. per day. I take the medication in the morning, but have not noticed any decrease in the side effects as the day goes on.
Same thing we me. Libido? Zero. Not good. I feel like what an 80 year old must feel like (well i imagine anyway).
I'm actually trying to figure out what other ADD meds are available that don't have the same side effects.
For some people, side effects may persist or worsen, but for the majority of patients, side effects become less bothersome with time. If you experience side effects that are severe, troublesome, or do not improve over a period of weeks, speak with your doctor.
This may not be extremely helpful, but for my boyfriend...
he has been off for almost 6 months and is still suffering from sexual side-effects. He is doing much better with sleeping, eating, and being in a good mood.
The sexual side of things is awful and no doctor can give us a straight answer as to when/if it will get better.
I've been taking strattera for almost a year know and I'm just about the minimum weight limit, i assume u are referring to the nausea and somewhat dizziness's. the dizziness only lasted a month or so for me but i still get nauseous every morning and have to eat A LOT of starch in the morning so i don't vomit, hope this helps
PS to minimize the nausea i open the capsule and tap off a little of the powder, it tends to take the edge off
I only took stratterra for three weeks before increasing side-effects forced me to end taking it. Two days after stopping it I suffered a continuous severe headache for two days.

: Depending on the side effects you are experiencing from Strattera, some may reoccur each time you take the drug, while other may subside with time. I took Strattera for 6 weeks, and my heartburn did not go away so I stopped taking it. Strattera seems like one of those drugs where the side effects actually do occur and some are more extreme than the others. Im going to say that for the most part the side effects will most likely not go away. But for example if you get headaches, you could take some kind of aspirin, or Tylenol. (if your doctor approves) or maybe you just get used to it and it doesnt bother you, but from what I've seen the side effects are reoccuring and vicious. hope this helps*************
