They require almost the exact same care, but I like my panther geckos more because they are a bit smaller, cleaner, and never bite
yes, panther geckos do shed. (also called pictus geckos, big head geckos, Madagascar ground geckos, etc.) If you own a panther gecko, make sure it has rough surfaces such as bark and rock in their enclosure, to help get their skin off during shedding, and a moist hide box
I like Leopard Geckos
This gecko is native to Madagascar.
reptilesncritters.com or if they do not have females you can go to a pet store and purchase one. Petco has baby male and female leopard geckos for only $30.
I'm not very much of an expert, but I've been looking around at lizards and it turns out panther geckos are nocturnal. So, if you want a pet to handle and play with, I would get a bearded dragon.
leopard geckos will have a swelling where the tail starts on the stomach side and dots by the pelvic area shaped like a V if its a male. not sure about panther geckos though
they can get about 6 - 7 inches long counting tail and head
No - they will fight for dominance, resulting in stress for the 'weaker' of the two.
Leopard geckos cannot live with panther geckos. Even though care for both are generally the same, there are some huge differences between the two. Leopard geckos are usually between 7 and 10 inches long (some almost a foot), and panthers are 4-6 (or occasionally up to 8) inches long. This size difference alone could do it. The Leopard geckos would pick on the panther geckos. Also, the climate of the two needs to be very different. Panther geckos live in southern Madagascar naturally, while Leopard geckos live in Afghanistan and neighboring countries. Panther geckos need higher humidity levels than Leopards, and lower temperatures. Together, either the leopard gecko, or the panther gecko, will suffer, if not both. Please, don't keep these two creatures together. It won't work out well.
