Marijuana cannot be prescribed anywhere in the United State as prescribing a level one narcotic will cause them to lose their license. Level one narcotics are shown to have no medicinal value.
I do not want to be argumentative, although whoever answered this question should check it out a little more. It is legal and prescribed for medical use in Colorado, Montana and a few other states. Do some research!

The way the law states right now, you can legally have medical marijuana in Arizona as long as you have a prescription from a doctor. But, under federal law it's illegal for a doctor to prescribe marijuana. So you're kind of covered, kinda not. The best solution is to talk to your local government and get them to change the wording in the law from "prescribe" to "recommend" like we have here in California. Why do people say they smoke medical marijuana?
In most states, Marijuana is legalized through medical use. Doctors and prescribe marijuana, but cannot give it to them. Until recently doctors recommended (California, for example) that they find a safe way of getting it. Now in California they have privately owned stores that will sell all types of marijuana to people who possess a medical marijuana license. Massachusettes will be voting to be the first state to fully legalize and sell marijuana to residents of Massachusettes, by the government.
