Apple are no longer manufacturing 1st generation iPod Touches.
1st generation iPod Touches are now becoming severely out-dated. The next iPhone OS 4.0 software update will not be available for 1st generation iPod Touches because the hardware simply can't support it. This likely means all future updates (4.x & possibly a 5.0 update in the future) will not be available for this device.
not sure about apple store but I know you can get it at best buy
Technically the 8gb 3rd generation is a second generation. No real hardware changes. That said, check eBay and Craigslist and you'll see dozens of them.
All iPod chargers work with all iPods.
they sell both but usually 2nd gen
Well it all depends on what ipod you have/get. All 3rd generation ipods excluding ipod shuffle will be able to store videos on them and be able to watch them. On the 2nd and 1st generation you cannot watch them but you are still not able to store them on the ipod either.
All generations above the previous generation are usually better in iPods. In this case, the iPod Touch 3rd generation is better than the 2nd. The difference is that the 3rd generation has bluetooth, but you can install that on your 2nd generation. There is not difference in speed Apple pretty much repackaged the 2nd generation adding the bluetooth to it though.
The 2nd generation ipod shuffle is the best to buy second hand. Even though the 3rd generation ipods have longer battery lives and more storage capacities, they get heated faster causing them to be turned off more frequent then their 2nd generation versions.
All iPods exept the iPod Nano 5th Generation and iPhone 3G and 3GS.
The Ipod second generation can play games, but only the ones already programmed on it. You can't buy games off iTunes and put them on there. In the iTunes store, they give the ipods that the games are compatible with. 2nd generation ipods just don't have the video requiremnets to play most of those games anyways.
You can sell a 2nd generation iPad 32 GB online on sites such as eBay.
There is no "regular" iPod touch, because they is a new one each year. Most iPods have different shapes, and cases for one will not fit another. Only the 2nd and 3rd generation iPods have the same physical shape.
The XM Skydock only works with the 1st & 2nd generation ipod touch, iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. All Models require iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
Yes they can. The new iPod Touches are simply cheaper and have a bigger and faster memory. They are the exact same design as the 2nd generation The new ipods are sure as hell not cheaper, but you can upgrade the downloading system for free on the 2nd generation and the 2nd generation willl be pretty much the same as the new ones. Unless you already have an advanced downloading system then you would have to pay like $10 or something but it saves you over $200.
NO.
