No, you do not have to be a Recon Marine to attend the USMC Combat Diver Course. However, the course is primarily attended by Recon Marines, as it is part of their specialized training. Other Marines, such as Force Reconnaissance and certain Special Operations units, may also attend the course.
no, Recon also the USMC has Force Recon... The Marines special operations are classified under MARSOC and have rigorous training for the Marines you have to first be in an infantry unit for four years then reenlist and go through sometimes it takes two years of training so six years total. plus RECON are the elite of the elite. Navy isn't elite only seals are elite and all Marines are elite but RECON is the tougher group. SEALS are still tough just not like RECON, different training. USMC Carlos Hathcock, Recon sniper has 93 confirmed kills. CHESTY Puller USMC awarded four navy crosses for bravery second highest under medal of honor and he had four of them. USMC John Basilone held off 3,000 enemy troops with their own machine gun with one other Marine whom was killed in the battle of Guadalcanal during the second world war and then single handedly hacked up three enemies with his jungle machete and for this was awarded the Medal of honor. but respect both.

(Asuming you mean USMC) You take the 4 month Recon Marine qualification course.(If you want to know what is on the course i would reccomend watching 'Surviving The Cut: Recon Marine' or something like that, it is on Netlfix and i think YouTube and the Discovery channel site)
The U.S.M.C. is a branch of the U.S. military, and the Marine Force Recon is an extremely small part of the Marine Corps Recon division. Its like the Corps Navy SEALS...only better...it takes alot of hard work, dedication, and a massive amount of motivation...and even with all that there's still a HUGE chance you won't make it...thats how exclusive it is.
