As with any job, veterinary medicine can be stressful. Veterinarians often work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. There are many treatments for diseases possible, but in some cases the treatment is too expensive for the owner to pursue and you end up euthanizing an animal that is suffering but could have been treated if the money had been there. There are conditions and diseases that cannot be treated, simply managed for pain and quality of life until a best friend is lost. There are staffing issues, and personnel management, and money concerns. On top of this, most veterinarians have a family (spouse, kids, etc.) which has its own stressful moments.
Possibly, a veterinarian is more at risk for contracting zoonotic diseases. A veterinarian also has the possibility of being injured by their clients, this is especially true for exotic animal vets.
Yes, almost all veterinarians like their jobs. They had to go school for many years to get their license. If they didn't like the job, they would probably find a new career.
Yes, being a veterinarian is stressful. In fact, the veterinary profession has a quite high suicide rate.
Yes a veterinarian job is stressful because every job is stressful
Being a veterinarian can be very stressful - you have to communicate to clients what is going on with their pets. You have to manage and lead a team including vet techs, vet assistants, kennel personnel, possibly a groomer plus office staff such as a receptionist. Very few medical cases are "classic", so you are often working on imperfect information to figure out what to do and in many cases may be forced to figure it out as you go along. Financial concerns are front and center for many clients, as well as for your business.
