White's tree frogs do not have to have a mate. I have had one for five years, now. He's a terrific fellow and a good pet - easy to care for, friendly, and entertaining. We live in a rural area with a pond behind the house. In the summer one can hear frogs croaking all night until dawn. Flip, my White's tree frog, happily sings along.

Gray tree frogs mating season is usually March-September, or they will mate during or right after a rainstorm. Gray tree frogs lay their eggs in ponds, streams, swampy areas, and any open area of water that has lots of pond weed, algae, and fresh water. If you can't find any tadpoles in any of those places, go on a camping trip and take a hike! Still can't find it? You can go to a garden and pond shop, such as Green Thumb, and maybe they will have it there.
They will eat flies, moths, several types of worms, grasshoppers, and Crickets. It's best to buy them from a pet shop or bait shop that don't use fertilizer or pesticides that are dangerous for all herpes.

It is much cheaper to buy regular eggs, and separate the whites yourself. You can do this by cracking open an egg, and tipping the yoke into each half of the shell, while carefully letting the whites fall into a separate bowl/pan.
