Considering it uses radiation, then yes it can cause cancer. Only under extreme exposer will it do that though. Getting X-rays is harmless unless you do it for hours continuously, well then you'll just die.
When it comes to radiation protection, professionals work around the assumption that "no amount is a safe amount" of radiation. However, to cause cancer, you would have to have tons of x-rays, and I've heard of no cases where anyone got cancer from routine x-rays. The radiation exposure is minimal.
X-rays can be harmful, however the benefit of being shown inside the body usually out-weighs the risk of being exposed to the radiation.
Excess radiation can cause cell mutation.
Having said that, radiation is used in high frequencies/strengths to shrink tumors & kill cancer cells.
Yes.
Whilst being very usefull as in diagnosing a bonefracture, extended exposure to X-Rays should be avoided at all costs. This may cause cancer.
X-Rays may also kill off cancer cells, and is a viable method of treatment for certain types of cancer.
Long exposure is not recommended. That is why the medical person taking the X-ray either leaves the room or stands behind a shielding screen while the X-ray is taken. For the patient, the exposure is very brief and is safe enough.
Anything in large amounts is dangerous; even x-rays. However, if x-rays are only given to a person on occasion there is no need to worry.

They experimented with xrays on the prisoners in the concentration camps. Mostly at Auschwitz.
