I own a Bishon Frise and they don't shed. I still will brush her at night when watching TV or out on the patio. I use Oatmeal shampoo and rub in gently and rinse well. The Oatmeal is good for their skin. If this doesn't work then see your vet.
If it is not a purebred Bichon Frise there is a possibility s/he could have inheirited it's fur gene, from the non-purebred bihcon frise parent. i.e could be a mixed breed therefore doesn't show obvious signs of purity.
However it the 9 month old Bichon Frise is in fact a purebred then i would consider seeing a vet about the problem. As Bichon Frise are supposedly "non-shedding" dogs.
As a Bichon breeder I would say your puppy is "blowing his coat" This happens in Bichons as their adult hair begins to come in.
While they are often advertised as a breed that does not shed, that is false and misleading. They do not shed in the same manner that a Alaskan Malamute or German Shepherd would; their shedding is often unnoticeable to most, but they do require frequent visits to the groomer to trim their coat.
What are ya going to do ? Make it shed?
Just Kidding.
uhm... you need to brush and comb it regularly so it might shed a little. ! :)
Very little with regular grooming.
no!!
No. Actually, a bichon frise is hypoallergenic, or has hair instead of wool or fur.
hair
Bichon Frise, Portuguese Water Dog, Schnauzers do not shed a lot.
Yes but not lots the need regular haircuts though but they are adorable.
Shelters often have Bichon Frise dogs, as well as Humane Societies. There are specific Bichon Frise rescue organizations including: Bichon Frise Rescue Ranch and Bichon Frise Rescue me.
They are all quite similar but if you are after an easy to take care of dog I would suggest a bichion frise because they don't shed hair (only their tail but not alot) and they are great with people :)
Nope!!!! These puppies stay small and they never shed!! They are a mix of a Shih Tzu and a Bichon Frise!
Bichon frise. No different than English
The Bichon Frise is a white dog. Black Bichon's do not exist!
No. Bichon Frise is a type of dog. They do grow.
Bichon frise are sometimes hyper. As you might of heard they have blitz's regularly these are when bichon frise run around and jump a lot usually barking. This is not a bad thing and it means they are happy.
My bichon frise's mother had my dog at 2 years old, so bichon frise's can have puppies at 2 years old :-)
