- If someone simply sends a card with a one-line message, I wouldn't have thought it did not need acknowledging. On the other hand, letters or moving and apt messages should be acknowledged in due course.

∙ 11y agoIt may not be necessary, but it's a good idea. If someone sent you a gift, you absolutely should send a thank-you; but even if they just sent a card, they were thinking of you. It's nice to let them know you received the card and appreciated the good wishes it contained.
