Animism is the belief that all objects, places, and creatures possess a distinct spirit or soul. It is a worldview that emphasizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of all living and non-living things in the world. Animists often engage in rituals and practices to communicate with and show respect to these spirits.
well i believe that most animals have souls too. if you believe in reincarnation then you may believe plants do too, but no not only humans. anything that has emotion has a soul.
AnswerSome of the ancient Greek philosophers believed that every living thing has a soul. Some said that everything capable of moving itself had a soul, which would now include modern machines. Whether souls exist, and whether only humans, only higher animals, or even everything in nature, including plants, have souls is a matter of what you choose to believe.AnswerChristians believe that only humans can have an eternal soul.
The Church believes that all animals also have souls but they are not immortal souls as man has. In other words, once the animal dies, so does its soul.
no of course not they have cells and other chemicals but no souls cos they dont really talk or have blood and bones.AnswerGenetically, plants are not too different from animals; so I would say yes it is possible. AnswerYes plants do have souls. Soul is nothing but consciousness. The plants and trees are conscious. If you place a flower pot near a window, it "understands" that it has to move in the direction of the window to get more sunlight. The basic difference between a living entity and a nonliving entity is the presence of a soul. All living beings have souls whereas nonliving things do not have. Plants are living beings. The plants prepare their own food to maintain the living state. If not given enough sunlight or water or other nutrients they "die". So, yes, plants have souls. :-)
Pretty much all religions deny goats and other animals to have souls.
Yes they are. Depending on your interpretation of animate will affect to what extent you believe they are, but they definitely are animate. The dictionary definition will tell you something like 'partaking of or showing signs of life', which - undeniably - plants do. If you look at the etymology of the word, animate comes from the Greek word 'anima' meaning psuche, or in modern English - soul. An animate object is one which has a soul, and if you follow Aristotle's reasoning in this sector (which you should as he coined the term) then all living things are ensouled (or animate) including human beings, animals and even plants (although there is a hierarchy within psuche and not all souls are the same). Anyway, point is: whether you believe plants have souls or not aside, they are alive, and so must be animate. Mike
The concept of a soul is largely subjective and based on individual beliefs. Many people believe that animals, including dogs, have unique spirits or energies that are sacred and deserving of respect and love.
Souls? Yes, everything has a soul except for trees and plants.
Fish dont have feeling but they have thoughts so that means that all living muliti-celled animals have souls then, so yes.
Catholic AnswerThe Catholic Church certainly believes that all members of the Church are welded together by the Holy Spirit, who, technically speaking is the "soul" of the Church, as it is He who animates her in the same manner that our individual souls animate our bodies. Unlike the souls of plants and animals, the human soul is an immortal spirit and does not die when the body dies. However only the souls of the perfect are united with God at the end of time. Revelation teaches that most souls choose everlasting hell. It must be understood that this welding of the souls of the just with God is not the same kind of unity that, for instance, Buddhists or Hindus believe in.
It is the Catholic faith that believes in purgatory and as that faith also believes that animals do not have souls, then no, logically, there can be no purgatory for animals.
