That command would have made no sense if Adam was meant to grow old and die anyway. Adam knew that if he did not eat from the tree, he would not die. Adam rejected God's values, by not taking into consideration God's requirement which was lifesaving. He did not recognize God's right to direct his life.

All you have to do is watch the News, humans' behaviour and draw you own conclusions. 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 mentioned above reads. " people will be lovers of themselves,lovers of money, unthankful, disloyal, without love of goodness. This scripture describes these aspects as the critical times that we are living today, and qualifies it as the last days of a system that is to disappear with God's kingdom. According to Matthew 6: 9,10 God's will, will be done as in heaven also on earth.
What does that mean ? Psalms 37: 29 has the answer, which is . " The righteous will possess the earth and live forever on it. God's purpose has not changed." It is important that each and everyone learn about God's government, which is available by speaking to any Jehovah's witness.
