bring the host chocolates
No. Since it is pot luck you bring a dish to add to the pot luck.
Invite someone else if you can then just ask if she wants to go to dinner with you and whoever else you invited.
Not unless it is a birthday or other celebration. If in doubt, check with the hostess.
An engagement ring! Aside from that, a nice dinner out, flowers, something you know she wants are good Mother' Day gifts.
You know, I think things are getting out of hand. First you get a pretty little invitation in the mail........its a 'SAVE THE DATE' card............ then you get another invite..........it's the engagement party invite........ OH WHOOPIE!!!!!!!.................then you get another 'save the date' invite ---------its the SHOWER...................Then you get yet THE BIG INVITATION.........IT'S THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!! OEY VEY.... It's getting ridiculous........and I'm trying to remember...I don't think you should be required to bring a gift to the engagement party. Jeeze. Who can afford to do these things anymore? Just stick to............SHOWER...........WEDDING........ SIGH.......... no because I am not aeare the weeding before now
When I was engaged, I did not receive any engagement gifts. I do not know of any of my friends who received engagement gifts either. I think that a good replacement to an engagement gift would be a gift for their bridal shower or bachelor party in addition to a wedding gift.
No, since you have already given an engagement gift you do not have to buy another gift for the party, but it would be a nice touch if you brought a nice bottle of wine or champagne.
A good unique engagement gift would be one the bride can enjoy with her new fianc, such as a gift basket with gourmet treats, Another good gift would be a couple's weekend at a resort or spa.
If there is an engagement party then yes, the parents would give a gift. Many couples get engaged and don't have an engagement party and in this case it is not necessary for the parents to give a gift.
No..a gift is a gift!
A birthday gift for your nephew would be appropiate, but it need not be something expensive. At 30 , we hope he is self-supporting by now. A hostess gift for his Mother wouild be optional.
