One option (often practiced in tornado drills) is to go to a section of hall away from windows and exterior walls, and crouch facing the innermost wall and cover the back of your neck, NOT your head, although if you can cover both, more's the better. But if you have no other choice, always cover the back of your neck. Another possibility is too seek shelter in a bathroom (again, without windows), though if a tornado is approaching you may not have time to be so selective.
