No mate not really, had my Rewaco for a while now running a stock VW 1800 and no problems, (touch wood) full scope for mods also.
If you have balancing problems, then a trike is better, since it'll keep itself upright under normal riding conditions. For certain types of riding with cargo, a trike will also be better. For overall, general riding, a trike is poorer. It'll be bigger and heavier. It'll have more rolling resistance. It'll corner strangely.
