As a member of the Future Soldier program, United States Army, Signal Support System Specialist, I can tell you truthfully... no, you do not. You don't start receiving pay until you arrive at Basic Combat Training. The Future Soldier program was started by the Sergeant Major of the Army as an attempt to help recruits gain rank before ever shipping to basic. Kind of a heads-up class, and a chance to gain more money while attending basic. Start at E-1 for $1,475/mo, or take some online classes and work out, possibly make E-2 for $1,565/mo or E-3 for even more!
