Bleu is the traditional French word, where the "fromage bleu" was invented. Blue is English. In American stores it can be spelled either way, though many bleu cheeses are imported from Canada or France. If it's from a local dairy, you'll probably be buying blue cheese.

I'm pretty sure you're speaking of Endive Salad (on-deev) made from endive greens, arugula or some other lettuce and usually a vinagrette dressing, walnuts, crumbled bleu cheese etc.
Wal-Mart super center sells it. I found Lite Bleu Cheese dressing there, it has a picture of Bob skinny and holding his big pants. I saw other types of diet dressing as well; Bleu Cheese.
