You can always request a reason by letter, but you cannot force an answer usually unless you file a lawsuit (perhaps over a discrimination law) and follow proceedures. The property owner generally has a right to ask anybody to leave the property and to stay off the property. That is why you cannot stay there and ask after you have been asked to leave.
Added: The above answer is essentially correct. Don't forget - a pub is PRIVATE PROPERTY. They offer their premises for the public's use, but they do retain control over who may enter and who may not.
