It depends what type of engineer you are. If you are a mechanical engineer and if u have experience u make around $80,000-100,000 per year.Eletrical engineers make about the same with experience. Civial engineers with experience and what type of mission their doing ,like if their making a okay sized buliding they could make around $160,000. But it depends about how much experience they have and wat type of mission their dealing with and also if their going to make a huge skyscraper like the cn tower or even bigger skyscrapers like the burj khalifa[the tallest building in the world] they could even go as high as making $100,000,000.
from my experience (texas and PA in 2005) and Canada 2012. An entry level Geotechnical engineer should be 45 to 60K a year USD in US and 60 to 70 CAD in Calgary. after 5 years of experience in Calgary a Geotechnical engineer could be making from 85 to 95k a year with a top of 100 k for regular engineer after 10 years of experience and 100k Plus (up to 130k) for good practicioners. hope this helps
In the US, I would recommend MIT, Carnegie Mellon, California Poly Tech (CalTech), Rochester Institute of Technology, although its ALL WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT, and how much effort you put into your studies. A degree from an accredited State University will give you a lot of Bang for Your Buck.

1I don't know, but I suspect that the answer is NO. Check with the professional Board which licenses Veterinarians. Until I retired, I was a Licensed Private Investigator, and we could not be licensed, having only a misdemeanor, and my brother is a Licensed Professional Engineer, and his wife a Licensed Professional Nurse, and they too cannot be licensed with criminal misdemeanor convictions, and a Texas concealed handgun license cannot be obtained unless a MINOR misdemeanor conviction is greater than five years old, so I suspect that a felony conviction knocks one out of obtaining any professonal license in Texas.
