Most of the time the parents will feed it

you must keep checking a couple times a day to make sure their crop is full.

sometimes the parents will not feed 1 or 2 chicks and you will have to hand feed them yourself. However be careful when you hand feed them,im not sure exactly how but you must know what your doing.Have someone show you like the vet or a near by breeder?

Can you feed fritos to a cockatiel?

No, it's not a good idea. Corn chips have too much salt to be a healthful treat for your bird. Plain whole wheat toast is a safer treat if you want to share something crunchy with your bird.

What to feed a cockateil?

What you feed a cockateil is bird food. Go into your local petstore and purchase a bag that says Cockatiel or Parakeet food. Cockatiels can also eat vegetables such as lettuce, and fruits like apples as a treat occasionally.

Can a cockatiel eat cucumber?

Yes, but don' feed cucumber often. Since cucumbers are mostly made of water, there are hardly nutrients in them for your bird. If you only feed cucumbers every day for their fruit/vegetable, they will have a vitamin deficiency. My suggestion is to stick with feeding your cockatiel dark green and bright orange fruits and vegetables. :)

Are almonds okay for a cockatiel?

I have an outdoor aviary and saw my male parakeet feeding 4 day old baby finches in the nest Should I worry about the parakeet's behavior Finches aren't abandoned by parents?

Unless the parent finches are getting mad, you don't need to worry about it. It's common if you have a bird in the parrot family, such as a parakeet, it will feed the smaller birds. They will commonly imitate you in how they treat small birds. For example if you say "here buddy" when you feed your bird, it is possible it will feed smaller birds while imitating you saying "here buddy".Additionally parakeet food is bigger seeds, but still similar enough in nutritional value that finches can eat parakeet food and vice versa. It's the same thing as if you have a cockatiel and add a parakeet. The cockatiel will likely treat the parakeet like a pet or else a baby cockatiel.

How do you care for newborn Gerbals?

The newborn gerbils must stay with their parents for at least a month. Their parents will take care of them, and the mother will feed them her milk. When they turn 3 weeks old, you can start feeding them real gerbil food, cheerios, and canary seed.

What do you do if you find a newborn baby bird with no hair?

Just return it to its nest if you can find it nearby. If not, bring it home and feed it bread with milk or earthworms if you can find any. Set the bird free if any bird comes pecking on the window (it may well be the baby bird's mother).

What does cockatiels feed on in its natural environment?

In the wild cockatiel chicks will get regurgitated food from whatever it's parents have eaten. The parents do not change their diet during the chick raising months but the chick cannot eat normal food until it is weaned.
