No. You do not have to give out anything. Older traditions of giving cake, pie, jam, coins, etc., have all given way to prepackaged, individually wrapped sweets. For best hygiene, whatever you give should be individually wrapped. Handing out bags of granola or cashews would be great in contrast to all the sticky sweet stuff.
