No. In fact, the military services have been very picky over the last couple of years; the economy has been so terrible that a lot of people have tried to enlist just to have a job. Even the Army is only accepting about 20% of the applications, and the Navy is even more particular.
If you're an American male citizen (born here or naturalized, it doesn't matter) you DO need to register with Selective Service within a month of your 18th birthday. Registration forms are available in every post office.
If you're a male immigrant or resident (legal, illegal, asylum requesters - it doesn't matter) between ages 18 to 26 must register for the draft within 30 days. Foreign students are not required to register, but must do so if they take a job in the USA. Failure to register for selective service can impact your eligibility for student loans and scholarships.
It's clearly sexist, but women are not required to register.
However, nobody has been drafted since 1973
