Apparently you can have just one sim card even if the phone is dual sim compatible.
EDIT: 'Dual SIM' - simply gives the user the option to use two different numbers in one handset. It's a users choice - not mandatory.

∙ 10y agoYes, but not without certain disadvantages such as:
1. One sim card provides only half of the storage space that could otherwise be utilized to store more data.
2. You cannot categorize certain files you might prefer to store on the other sim card. For example, you may want to store your business contacts or your "friends" contacts on one sim card and your family contacts on the other.
3. You also loose the ability to assign certain call functions that could be on standby on one sim card while all other call functions are active on the other.

∙ 12y agoNo. They only give you dual sim slots so you can have a vodaphone and a telecom sim in it at the same time or any other network. But you can have only one sim in it at a time
