If you have no battery on your mobile phone and call 911 does it work?

No, you can not call 911 without a battery but if your phone has no service because you didn't pay then you can still call 911. Please don't try it because calling 911 without an emergency is a bad thing to do. Hope this helped :-)

Can 911 locate a home with cable internet phone service?

If your area has E911 available, then 911 will have access to your address when you make a call. If you have regular 911, however, when you make a call you are first routed to national emergency call center, which can cause extra delays in an emergency. This will really depend on the type of 911 service in your area. Your phone provider is required to provide detailed information on your 911 capabilitites.

Where are 911 calls directed?

I am considering to purchase a Magic Jack, to use for telephone service. Can you comment on their reliability of service for use on residential local, long distance and 911 telephone service. ?

The device works through your Internet service so you are no longer connected through the phone lines. The service is as reliable as your Internet connection. If you lose the connection or if you lose power, you will have no phone service. You can use the phone to dial 911, but your location will not register with the 911 service. It will register as though you are calling on a cell phone. There are some additional for-fee services you can get to transfer your information to 911, but otherwise, you would have to give the information when you call. The device does work through your internet service but is portable. You enter 911 information at the time of installation and, if you ever have to use 911, they have your location. If you take MagicJack with you when you travel you will need to add the present lication to the 911 feature. IMO Magic Jack isn't all thats cut out to be, its unreliable during phone calls i have to say its great would never have a land line again....
