Typically if the AC system has been drained for more than 2 days you need to replace the accumulator since it has silica type beads that can get into the system if over saturated.
the receiver dryer and the orifice tube My 95 had a styrofoam liner in the evaporator box that had crumbled with age and plugged up not only the drain tube but the vent tubes. I would replace that as well as long as you have the dash apart. It is not a must but Personally I would consider replacing the heater core since you have to remove it to get the evaporator out anyway.
The receiver dryer is the can looking thing next to the evaporator.
HeyJolly==It is by the receiver dryer which is that big shinny can looking thing by the evaporator. GoodluckJoe
Good idea to.
The 1994 Mazda 929 dryer receiver is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The dryer receiver will be on the passenger side of the firewall.
The Receiver Dryer is on the driver's side of the condensor, behind the front bumper. It's the long, silver cannister.
on the evaporator / dryer
On the passenger side there is a port on the receiver/dryer. The receiver/dryer is located next to the pluming box under the hood.
Yes
10 years ago they kept telling us that replacing R12 a/c system with 134 gas was not recommended because will destroy the compressor and so on, I have retrofitted all my vehicles to 134A with no negative consequences ,so I believe it can be done Just have to evacuate the system totally and remove the oil from the condenser, evaporator and receiver dryer(Filter) and add the recommended oil for 134A gas .
The manual will say change all the flexible lines and O rings. The truth is that you will need to remove the compressor and receiver tank. Drain all the oil from the compressor, replace the receiver/dryer. Insert new 134 compatible oil. Replace all disturbed O rings. Charge with 134A . Should work
Find the receiver/dryer, it's the can with the rounded ends, near the firewall, drivers side. The low pressure port is near the receiver/dryer, between the receiver/dryer and the compressor. High side is between the compressor and the condenser. The condenser is the part that looks much like a radiator and sits in front of the radiator.
