yes... they are both selective seretonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) and work in the same manner. Pay attention to possible allergic reactions though, as the chemical structure is slightly different. see label.
I would guess yes, but just ask your doctor. Don't mess around when taking prescription drugs. It is a quick phone call and you have your answer. They should have told you anyway when they changed your medication.

As far as I understand, yes you can. You cannot take clotting medications or MAOI's whilst taking Zoloft. "Do not take Zoloft together with pimozide (Orap), or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate). You must wait at least 14 days after stopping an MAOI before you can take Zoloft. After you stop taking Zoloft, you must wait at least 14 days before you start taking an MAOI."** **http://www.drugs.com/zoloft.html
Common prescription medications written for those diagnosed with clinical depression include Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and Tricyclic Antidepressants. These drugs are helpful in stabilizing mood by increasing the presence of the "feel good" neurotransmitters for longer periods of time in the brain.
I use to do that, but my meds got switched, Im on zoloft and seroquil, and it really doesnt have a noticeable effect on me. so Im not 100% sure, but Im gonna say none
There are many different anti-depressant medications. These SSRIs (Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors) work to increase the levels of seratonin in the brain. Common ones are Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro, Celexa.
