3D TV is capable of showing both 2D and 3D images so you can always switch between 2D and 3D. You just need to turn on the 3D mode when watching 3D movies or 3D filmed TV programs that streams from cable/satelite. Then switch to 2D mode when watching regular 2D programs, and it goes the same when you playing Video Games too. There is however a feature called 2D to 3D conversion, which I thought very very cool. This feature lets you change ANY 2D content into 3D, and with this feature ANY kind of movies, show programs, even a YouTube video on the web can be shown in 3D. Then you will be able to watch everything in 3D. However, this feature is not included in every 3D TV, so check the TV's specification before you buy if you want this feature.

The real good news is that because of the high specifications of most 3D TVs, they also deliver exceptionally high quality 2D images as well.

Do 3d tv let you watch everything in 3d?

3D televisions will only deliver true 3D when they receive 3D content. Some televisions provide a 3D simulation mode which creates a sense of depth from a 2D signal. Whatever the manufacturer claims, these are no more than a simulation and are not a true representation of 3D. If a television offers a simulation, it must be considered as a bonus feature rather than a reason to buy the television as the 3D effects will not match true 3D.

Can I watch a 3D TV without wearing the glasses?

Yes, it is possible. Not all the content shown from a 3D TV will require you to utilize 3D glasses, and you can watch normal programs from 3D TVs. The picture will not be distorted unless you're watching a 3D film that requires special 3D glasses.

Can you disable 3d on a 3d tv?

I can't imagine you can. You can only watch 3D programming on a specified 3D channel on your cable/satellite service, so there would be no need to disable it. So essentially, if you don't want to watch 3D, don't watch the channel.
