After scoliosis surgery, it depends where they fused/placed the rods/screws...I had scoliosis surgery and I can crack the TOP half of my spine, but, the screws are at the bottom of my back and I am unable to crack it there. :)
I have scoliosis. 1 wear a brace 2 get surgery 3 do exercises approved by a doctor for your scoliosis 4 get medal bars planted next to your spine for support (surgery)
If you have a spinal fusion, which is the most common surgery, you are not in a cast at all, you are wrapped in an ice pack and usually stay in the hospital for 4-10 days. no that is not true i had surgery for scoliosis where they put 2 rods in my back and a bunch of pins and all of that im pretty sure that is called spinal fusion! and i didnt have to wear a brace afterwards or an icepack it was a tough surgery but i will never have to wear a brace again at least and its almost been 6 months since my surgery and i am already dancing swimming and everything else a kid does so you never have to wear a brace again after scoliosis surgery! and i was only in the hospital for a week! maybe not even probaly 5 days cause i had an awesome doctor!
The treatment options for scoliosis depend on the severity and the age of the person. Some of the treatment types are * wear brace * surgery * do nothing * ENDOSCOPIC DISCECTOMY SURGERY. etc . You can a look at the following website for detailed instructions - http://www.scoliosisrx.com/
sometimes you can wear a specially-fitted brace. or you can have a surgery. also some doctors just monitor your spine with x-rays and do nothing until it is needed.
Yes. She used to wear a brace but now she took it off.
it really depends on what kind of scoliosis it is, and how bad it is. Generally, the doctors will probably do their best to make it in the shape of your body, with different shapes of padding inside of the brace instead of outside of the brace.
Treatment for the onset of scoliosis will be dependent upon the age of the patient and the severity of the curvature. The patient may have to wear a back brace, undergo physiotherapy and/or undergo surgery to insert a metal rod in the spine to prevent it from worsening.
If you are between 20 and 40 degrees, it is recommended to wear a brace for a couple years. Over 40 degrees, surgery is needed. Yoga also helps strengthen the back.
If you wear a brace to try and correct the curvature, it won't hurt, but it will be quite uncomfotable.
You can't actually get rid of scoliosis but you can have corrective surgery. Or you can also wear a back brace or over time the spine can straighten itself while the body is growing. A doctor can help you make choices.
it all depends im 12 i had the same surgery almost 6 months ago but i have the rods in my back they tried the brace with me cause it works with some people but it didnt help me and i hated wearing it cause i had to wear it 20 hours a day! my curve got worse so i had surgery so the brace may work for him or it may not it all depends on how large his curve is
It really depends on how bad the scoliosis is and what your doctor recommends. If you have between 15 and 20 degrees it won't be much of a problem but if its from 20 to 35 degrees of an angle, you might meed a brace, and if there is anymore of a curve you would need to consider surgery.
