I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago. I have not gained anyway weight thus so far, in fact afterwards I lost weight!
I think if you don't go overboard with eating you will not gain. Obviously I'm able to eat foods I could not before - so I have to be very careful. But also you get sick to your stomach if you DO go overboard - I also experience a lot of nausea and dizziness. I still feel awkward eating fatty foods too.

It simply depends on what YOU eat. If you eat fatty foods and sweets afterwards of course you're going to gain! I know I ate fat free EVERYTHING before surgery and lost 24 pounds. Right now, I think I've gained 2 pounds due to having Pizza and candy - my own fault - not the surgery's fault!

Those who say that you gain, are full of it - if you eat bad, you do gain (unless you have thryoid issues or some other issue).

I dissagree with the above statement because I did not eat bad or more and I gained 30 pounds in 3 months after galbladder sugery. I had never been overweight in my life at age 40 until I had the galbladder removed. I believe there is something chemical going on. I have a healthy life style with exercise and diet. I take no medications, rarely do I even take asprin. I could have some other issue as you say, but removing the galbladder triggered weight gain. I would sure love to know what issues with galblatter removal cause weight gain.

Do you gain weight being bulimic?

Yes you can gain weight being bulimic. The hardcore bulimics who actually lose weight from being bulimic are the ones who are dying. They are no different than the people who are malnourished and starving. Is it worth it? NO. If you want to lose weight and not lose control over your life then just calorie count and exercise. There is no shortcuts. Unless you can afford surgery but then you have to be able to risk it. EVERYONE i know who has had some type of weight loss surgery had severe complications.

Preventing Weight Gain after Gastric Bypass Surgery?

< /p>While gastric bypass surgery can help a person lose weight, it is not an end all to keeping one's weight down. Weight gain after gastric bypass surgery is sometimes common among those that have received it because they are still stuck in the same eating habits they had before the surgery. But with a proper nutritious diet and exercise regimen, one can keep a steady weight without having to worry about gaining it back after their surgery.< /p>

Do you usually gain or lose weight lifting weights?

This depends on the person and the kind of weight lifting you do. The short answer however is that lifting weights should help you to lose fat and gain muscle. If you are lifting heavily in order to gain muscle mass, you will gain weight. However, if you are lifting to get lean muscle, it should help to lose weight.
