No. The existing pool pump will work just fine.
I think you need water in your system and salt in your system but no salt water..................I think
You do need to add something to your already existing filter system that changes salt into chlorines so that it sanitizes your pool. The name of that device is a salt water generator. It consists of a cell plumbed in after your filter and an electrical control system that monitors the cells performance.
Well, if the pump isn't on then the system isn't producing chlorine. Same goes for older systems like a chlorinator that added chlorine to the pool. Probably not a big deal as long as the salt system is wired to shut off while the pump is off. You could also look into an energy efficient pump that you can run 24hrs and still save money on electricity!
You need a salt water chlorinator. A salt water chlorinator is an electronic devise that converts the salt in the water from the pool into chlorine gas that is then absorbed into the water.
They are two different things . The salt chlorine generator is seperate from the pool pump .
The salt in the water is not effective unless the pump is running, which generates chlorine. So yes, extra sanitizer will need to be added. Check sanitizer once a week to ensure
Absolutely: The equipment does not know the difference in what chemical you are using.
it depends on the kind of salt water you have believe it or not there is different kinds from different componies so it all depends if they all ready did thet for you or not
Sure, you CAN, but why would you want to? The purpose of the salt in a saltwater system equipped pool is to provide the chlorine the saltwater system generates. It would be the same as having a saltwater system pool that the saltwater system went bad and you just installed an inline chlorinator in the plumbing instead of replacing the saltwater chlorine generator system so you could add chlorine with the tablets.
No it is a different system altogether.
There will no issues with the water pump. Most pools don't really use salt water they put salt in the water and have a chlorinator that zaps the salt turning it into Chlorine. Salt is a bit hard on gas heaters though. I like to use heat pumps made out of titanium when I have salt systems in the water.
No - aquarium salt has a different chemical composition to that of common table salt.
